tuesday night

i am falling behind on my blog. you guys be patient with me. my new job is going well and they are keeping me busy! tomorrow a health fair in the morning, an appt in the evening, and then one appt on thursday....guess what i will be doing thurdsay night....driving to the woods,,,,,we want to get there early and scope out our spots before saturday morning! CAN NOT WAIT!!!!

finally got to go shoot at the range today, and not just paper targets but the 3-d targets,,,it was awesome, i think i am ready!! come on next weekend....can't wait to spend some time in the woods! I am hoping for a grand buck, but i will be just as happy with a mature doe!

long week

hello friends,
it has been a bit since i have updated, so here is what is going on.
have our tent set up in our carport (doing a dry run with new tent before we get out in the woods),
new job is keeping me busy, which is a great thing!
gonna try to get some shooting in tonight, don't think i have drawn my bow since tuesday.
we have our trip all planned, and all of our hunting/camping gear is sitting in the carport just waiting for us to load it up!
not much longer! can not wait to get out in the woods. soo excited..
later today i will be posting a pic of our new tent, set up in the carport in all its glory!

....counting the days til the season opens..tick,tock,tick, tock....it can't come soon enough. I will try to post some pics tomorrow, as we have some new ones from the game cam!

...got out to do a little hog hunting tonight, did not see one hog all evening! with this being said, i would not suggest taking a bored six year old into a blind.......

...need i say much more? bow season opens in 2 weeks, i started my new job and all is great!

getting ready!

Well friends, we have officially started getting ready for hunting season! Last night we went to Bass Pro and got some new camping equipment! Thanks to my mother-in-law and a gracious gift card we were able to get a new tent and sleeping bags, a new air mattress, I had some arrows cut and got some new broadheads! Oh and I got a new cast iron griddle :) !  We are officially geared up, we have a myriad of camping stuff and the things we got at bass pro where much needed! Tonight I will be shooting my bow with my new Rage broadhead practice tip to get my bow sighted in! Come on October!!!!!

wednesday

haven't gotten much dove hunting in this week, trying to get ready for bow season. Have to make sure I am accurate and ready! gonna get out soon and practice my tree stand skills (didn't go so well the first time)! you guys wish me luck!

new job

started training today for my new job! think it is going to be great! no hunting today, city council meeting tonight,,,,and guess what>???i am on the agenda to get a board post!  2 more weeks until bow season and our mini hunting trip! I can't wait!!!

had a great weekend, no hunting, but peewee football and my son's birthday! it is going to be hot all week! hope to get some dove hunting in, but am gearing up now for bow season. got to get some more shooting in before october 1. planning a hunting trip opening weekend of bow season!!! hope to get a big buck!!!

Today is my son's 19th birthday and he is my baby, wow, time does fly!
had a great time cooking chicken fried steak with all the fixins, that is what he wanted.
met his girlfriend (sweet), my daughter and her boyfriend came with my grand-daughter, she is a mess! my mom and her husband! great day with the family!

It is Wednesday and I am thinking I should start building an ark! :) Obviously, there will be no dove hunting for the next couple of days! So Sad! I would love for you to post pictures of your hunts, especially since I will not have any new pics for a bit! Hope you all are having a wonderful day!

hello friends, well, it is tuesday and it is raining! it looks like i will not get any dove hunting in for the next three days according to the weather man, it is supposed to be nothing but rain!
Keep checking back, i will let you know if i can get out there!

labor day hunt

Well friends, i had my first solo dove hunt today, and let me tell you it was interesting. When i got out there i realized my camera had no batteries, oh well, i thought i can take pics when i get home. haha, was i wrong- I shot at ONE bird all day! there was a man to my right that managed to get one...and that was it,,,really, no more birds all day! oh well, i enjoyed myself and had a great new experience.

labor day

it is labor day today, and i look forward to getting out this afternoon! we sat in the emergency room until 3 a.m., cause my husband refused to go to the doctor on friday! needless to say he was very dehydrated and required iv antibiotics and fluids. kind of think i will be going solo today unless my brother comes! wish me luck, and have a great holiday!

It is Sunday and the third day of dove hunting....finally, i shot one! I was so happy! Going out again tomorrow and hope to get a few more!

It is sunday morning, and my husband got up at the crack of dawn to go dove hunting! so far he has taken one. I will be out there later this afternoon! hope i have bette luck than the last two days! Lunch with mom and then...I finally bag my first dove of the season! :) Stay tuned.....

well, i finally got out to do some dove hunting! it was awesome! my brother(j.lewis), my nephew(preston), my husband(jason), my son(michael) and i all went. with that being said, i did not shoot one dove! i shot at them, but did not manage to hit even one! so as of right now-husband 1, me 0. hoping now that i got the hunting chitters out i will do better tomorrow! wish me luck!

It's Friday
